I am a computer dummy having computer issues. A friend gave me a 24' iMac from 2009, and it worked fine when she gave it to me, using it for internet browsing. I shut it down, put it in storage for a year, and when I fired it back up a year later, it goes into a Kernel Panic reboot. So I thought to myself of factory settings it. It took me to the 4 options. I erased the disk, and went to reinstall osx. (OS X El Capitan 10.11) I click continue, agree, and then click on install. I put in, my Apple ID, it shows ' This item is temporarily unavailable. Try again later.'
This Item Is Temporarily Unavailable El Capitan Reinstall
I have an old 2007 iMac that has a broken operating system. I am automatically redirected to recovery mode on it, and try to reinstall MacOS Yosemite, but it was used and we don't know the apple id to fix it, and it keeps throwing the error 'this item is temporarily unavailable'. The good news is that I have a MacBook Air 2020 that works perfectly fine, but we can't seem to install OS X El Capitan 10.11 on it because it keeps saying 'update not found. the requested version of macos is not available.' on the Mac App Store. Here is the link I tried to install it from:https://apps.apple.com/app/os-x-el-capitan/id1147835434?mt=12I need to install this on my computer first and then use the 'createinstallmedia' command in terminal to load it onto a USB flash drive.PS: I have tried installing the dmg of this and restoring to the USB in Disk Utility but it did not load in startup mode when you restart your mac and press and hold 'option' and I don't wan't to go through the pain of doing it this way again;Ok, my question: How do I fix this 'update not found' error when trying to install El Capitan from the Mac App Store on my 2020 MacBook Air?Thanks!
