This is how to install Mac OS X 10.11 'El Capitan' on an unsupported Mac Pro. In this video, I use a Mac Pro 1,1 (that has been flashed to 2,1 firmware). To download Mac OS X El Capitan from the App Store, follow the link: Download OS X El Capitan. On the El Capitan, click the Download button. Next, a file Install OS X El Capitan will download. To download Mac OS X El Capitan from the App Store, follow the link: Download OS X El Capitan. On the El Capitan, click the Download button. Next, a file Install OS X El Capitan will download.
At Section 4 click on Download OS X El Capitan. This will download the Install MacOSX.dmg.
Once the download has finished double-click on the .dmg, this will open up to Install MacOSX,pkg,
double-clicking on that will open an installation window. Follow the prompts (this does not install El Capitan)
and it will convert the .pkg to the Install OS X El Capitan.app. You can use that to install El Capitan directly,
but be mindful that the app will self delete on completion of the installation process. An alternative and
more useful approach would be to create a bootable USB installer.

The download version is an updated release of El Capitan that has new certificates
